Today we are going to learn how to create those cursive designs with a heart in the middle using Cricut Design Space.

How to Connect Your Cursive Font with Hearts in Cricut Design Space

First type in the text you'd like to use and click on the Font to bring up the font search menu.

We are going to use the Yellow Bunny Heart Font, which has both the connecting hearts and the font tails (aka the swoosh at the end.)

Leave the "Only Kerned Fonts" option checked. This keeps the proper spacing between your letters. Read more about font kerning and how to adjust the spacing between your letters in Cricut Design Space HERE.

This connecting hearts font for Cricut doesn't show the hearts and tails unless we access the special characters (aka glyphs) that are included with the font.

How to Open Special Characters in Cricut Design Space with a PC

Open Font Book on your MAC and find the Yellow Bunny Heart Font and highlight the character you'd like to use.

Press CMD+C to copy the "l" with the tail.

Now return to your text and highlight the first letter and press CMD+V to paste the "l" with the tail.

Go back to Font Book and highlight the next character you'd like to use. I have copied the "a" with the connected heart (CMD+C).

Highlight the "a &" and paste (CMD+V) the character.

Now I need to connect the "j" by changing it to a lowercase letter and removing the space between it and the heart.

And last, I have to replace the end letter with the "n" with a tail.

Once the word is complete, click Weld and send to your Maker, Explore or Joy.
