DIY Round Wood Welcome Sign

Bundle promotions in this blog post have expired - find the design we used HERE

In this tutorial, we'll show you how to make a DIY round wood welcome sign for your front door!

We are using the Welcome to Our Haunted House svg - which is already designed with the curve for the wood round sign.

You can find this svg design in the October 2022 SVG and Font Bundle.

Grab a wood round

Sand the wood until it's super smooth. Remember: sand in the direction of the wood grain.

If you are going to paint the wood round in sections, use a straight edge and pencil to mark the sections.

Mask off the sections with blue painter's tape.

We used a water-based stain. A water-based stain cleans up easily with soap and water and is SO easy to apply with a foam brush.

Let dry and mask off the other sections and paint. Remember that the paint strokes should go in the same direction as the wood grain.

This sign will be outside on your front door and exposed to the elements. We recommend that you seal the sign with a clear spray sealer

Cut out your design in permanent adhesive vinyl.

Transfer vinyl onto wood round using transfer tape.

Remove the transfer tape in the opposite direction of the wood grain.

Add hangers and finish with a bow or some floral greenery!

This wood round front door sign design, plus lots, lots more, can be found in the October 2022 SVG and Font Bundle.
