How to Transfer Images to Glass

Learn how to transfer images to glass using one of these simple techniques.

You can find these uplifting designs in the Big Inspirational Quotes SVG Design Bundle:

You can find glass vases and candle holders at a dollar store or a thrift store.

You'll also need to clear packing tape.

Print out the designs with a laser printer - important, you must use a laser printer. You can also have images printed at a local print shop. Use designs that have dark & vivid colors.

Trim around the printed image as desired.

Place the packing tape over the laser printed image.

If the image is larger than the width of the packing tape, lay down several strips that overlap slightly to cover the whole image.

Lay the tape down without any wrinkles using a burnishing tool

Place the designs in a shallow tub of warm water and let sit for the few minutes. The paper will begin to soften and dissolve.

Use your finger to help rub off the excess paper.

If you're having trouble removing all the paper, lightly use a toothbrush to remove the paper - just don't be too rough because you can scratch the ink.

Once all the paper is removed, allow to dry with back of the tape facing up (the previously sticky side).

Once dry, the stick will return to the tape, and you can adhere it to your glass vase or candle holder like you would a vinyl design or sticker.

Method 2: Use clear permanent adhesive vinyl to transfer images to glass.

I used clear permanent adhesive vinyl for this larger design on this glass block you can find in craft stores.

I guess you do not peel the packing tape off? What if you used multiple strips? You will see the clear tpe and the overlapping edges? Is this what you did or do you later remover the packing tape like a transfer tape?
