The Best Adhesives to Use with 3D Paper Projects
Bundle promotions in this blog post have expired - you can find the design we used HERE.
In this post, we are sharing the best adhesives to use with 3D paper projects.
We are using a layered gingerbread house design from the Winter Crafter's SVG Bundle.
The Gingerbread House Design has 8 layers that we cut from 80 lb. weight cardstock with a Silhouette CAMEO 4 cutting machine. You can cut the design out with any machine!
Our first adhesive is a permanent, water-based, acid-free, white glue with a fine applicator tip.
Touch the tip of the applicator to the surface, then begin squeezing slowly. Glide over the surface of the cardstock for smooth, unbroken lines.
Press layers together to adhere. You will need to leave time for the glue to fully dry.
The second type of adhesive to use with 3D paper projects are acid free foam dimensional adhesives. These add dimension and space between the layers of the paper project.
Peel the foal dimensional away from the backing paper and stick to the surface of the cardstock.
Remove the paper backing on the other side of the foam dimensional.
Press layers together to adhere. Unlike a white glue, there is no drying time.
Assemble the cardstock layers of the 3D gingerbread house using the two different adhesives as desired to adhere the layers together.
