How to Open Embroidery Files on an Embroidery Machine

You can open embroidery design files from So Fontsy quickly and easily on your embroidery machine without the need for any special embroidery software.  There are just a few steps from downloading to stitching. Start by downloading your So Fontsy embroidery files from your account downloads onto your computer. The embroidery files will download as zip files. Unzip the zip files. Most embroidery file designers offer several embroidery machine file types including BX, PEC, PES, DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, VP3, and XXX. Check each product listing for the exact file types included in your purchase. In the unzipped folder, find the file type you want to use AND the appropriate embroidery file for the hoop size you are using. In this example I am looking for the 4X4 PES file. Insert a USB thumb drive into your computer's USB port. Drag the embroidery design file onto the thumb drive. Eject the thumb drive from the computer and plug it into your embroidery machine's USB port. Each embroidery and sewing machine is slightly different, but you'll use the touchscreen to choose to open designs on the USB thumbdrive drive.  Scroll through the drive to find your design then select it to use it to embroider.
