How to Make Car Mirror Charms | Using HTV on Wood
Are you looking to make unique and personalized car mirror charms? Look no further! In this blog post, we will show you how to make custom car mirror charms using HTV on wood. Not only are they easy to create, but they're also affordable, fun and perfect for giving as gifts or decorating your own car with a bit of personality. So let's get started on making your own car mirror charm!
First you will prepare your design. I used an adorable mama design. However, it was a bit thin while cutting so I thickened it up in Silhouette Studio. This design can be purchased in the Mom Life Design Bundle where you can get over 240 design for 90% off. Next, I cut the design out using my Silhouette Machine and HTV. While I was preparing and cutting my design I painted a 2" wooden round. This round includes 2 holes that will come in handy later.
Once my paint was dry and my HTV was weeded, I placed the design on top with a piece of teflon and pressed it using my Cricut Mini Press at heat setting 3 for about 5 seconds. I repeated this step for both sides of the wooden blank.
Once I had my design pressed to both sides I strung the felt balls on to very thin jute. Using a needle i added 3 felt balls, went through the top hole of the wooden blank and then back up through the 3 felt balls again.
Then I created a tassel to add to the bottom of the charm. I did this by wrapping jute around a tassel jig until i felt it was full enough and then tied it off and used some extra jute to attach it to the wooden blank's bottom hole. Making your own car mirror charm is an easy and affordable way to showcase your personality. Not only are they fun to make, but they also make great gifts for family members, friends or anyone else who loves a bit of customization in their lives. With the help of HTV on wood you can create unique car mirror charms that will last a long time and look amazing when put in your car.
