How to Make a Reverse Canvas Sign with Sublimation
Follow this step by step tutorial to learn how to create a fall farmhouse reverse canvas sign with sublimation printing.
This diy farmhouse project was made with the Fall is Better in the Country SVG Design, which is part of the Fall Farmhouse SVG Design & Font Bundle.
Our easy fall decor project uses a basic canvas that you can find here.
Before we prep the canvas, warm up your heat press to 365 and set timer to 40 seconds.
Remove the canvas from the frame by flipping it over and scoring the canvas with a straight edge and ruler.
Score all the way around the canvas to remove it from the frame.
Remove the staples.
Lay the canvas flat and spray with sublimation coating so that the full area where you want to sublimate is damp. Place it in the heat press for about 15 seconds to dry the area you sprayed.
Spray the same area again with a 2nd coat and again place in the heat press for about 15 seconds.
Spray the same area again with a 2nd coat and again place in the heat press for about 15 seconds.
Paint the canvas with black (or any color) chalk paint. Let dry.
Print the Fall is Better in the Country design with your sublimation printer and trim around it.
Now take your sublimation print and place it face down on the canvas. Use high temperature tape to hold it in place.
Press for 40 seconds in the hot press.
When the time is up remove the canvas and carefully remove the sublimation print.
Cover the edges of the back of the frame with double sided tape and place onto the canvas.
Trim the excess from the edges with scissors.
