Looking for a unique way to customize your glass can tumbler? Check out this blog post too see how you can make your plain glass can or tumbler extraordinary with some color-changing vinyl. Just add a cold beverage to reveal your own special creation!First you will want to grab a glass can tumbler! Next, you will want to choose your design. I loved the leopard/rainbow design from the Glass and Tumbler Sublimation Bundle. This bundle includes a massive 141 designs for 90% off!
Open the design of your choice in Silhouette Studio and make sure it is sized correctly for your blank.
With this design, I will be cutting multiple colors so I made it easy to layer by adding in registration boxes. I did 3 across the top.
Then, I sent the design to cut, turning off all cuts but one color. This will leave the registration boxes to cut, the full size box around and a single color.
Continue cutting each individual color by changing what is set to 'cut' and what is set to 'no cut' until you have all colors cut. Then weed off the extra vinyl.
Align and layer your design by lining up the registration boxes on the transfer tape and removing the backing paper, layer by layer, until you have all the parts on the transfer tape. Next, you will line up the decal on your glass beer can and transfer the decal to the glass. Hot tip! Place and tape two dowel rods onto your work surface for easier application onto your round surface!
Burnish well and remove the transfer tape. With just a few simple supplies and a bit of creativity, you now have the knowledge to take an ordinary glass can tumbler and turn it into something unique and special. Color changing vinyl is so versatile that you can use it for any number of projects. And the best part? Your creation will always be one-of-a-kind!
