The Silhouette CAMEO 4 will be released later in 2019. Compared to the Silhouette CAMEO 3, the CAMEO 4 will have updated features, cutting ability and three times the speed.

The price will start at $299 for the base machine with Silhouette CAMEO 4 bundles starting at $329.

Silhouette School and Swing Design – who will begin pre-orders of the Silhouette CAMEO 4  in late summer – were both at Silhouette America’s 2019 Summit meeting in Hawaii earlier this month.  The Silhouette CAMEO 4 was just one of several new Silhouette machines in 2019.  Silhouette America also announced it will release a 15″ Silhouette CAMEO Plus and 20″ Silhouette CAMEO Pro. Both of the wider Silhouette machines are expected to be released in early 2020.

Reverse Canvas Tutorial

So Fontys’s sign designs, specifically, are perfect for making reverse canvases. A reverse canvas is a relatively new technique where the canvas is taken off the wood frame, heat transfer vinyl is added, and then the canvas is reattached to the back of the frame for a new look.

Start by using an Xacto knife to cut the canvas along the outside of the staples to remove the canvas from the frame.  Cut your sign design on heat transfer vinyl and apply it with a heat press. The next step is to re-attach the canvas to the wood frame.  Read More

How to Save an SVG to Projects in Brother’s Canvas WorkSpace

Follow the tutorial to open an SVG in Canvas WorkSpace.

Once the SVG is in the Canvas WorkSpace, give the project a Title in the title box.

Click the tool icon to “Overwrite this Project.”


This will save the SVG to the My Projects tab of the Canvas Workspace so you can access it later!

How to Open SVGs in Brother’s Canvas Workspace

To open an SVG in the Brother Scan N Cut software, Canvas Workspace, you can follow this tutorial.

Start by going to the Brother Scan N Cut software website, Canvas Workspace.


Click on the My Projects tab. From the My Projects tab click “New.”

To open an SVG in Canvas Workspace, click the SVG icon along the top tool bar.

A pop up window will appear. Click “Choose File” and then navigate to the SVG file on your computer.

Once you find the SVG file click “Open.”


After clicking open the pop up window will confirm which file you want to open. Click Ok.


The SVG design will now appear in your Canvas Workspace. You can resize it as necessary before cutting on your Brother Scan N Cut.
